Frequently asked questions

The questions we hear before someone signs up.

You've read how the pipeline works and what it costs. Here's what usually comes up next — the specific "but what about…" questions that a pricing page can't answer on its own.

What if an employee doesn't return their equipment?

We send the usual reminders — email nudges tied to the return window you set. But we're not the employer, so we don't have any legal authority to compel a return. If an employee goes unresponsive or refuses, we escalate it back to your HR or IT contact, since that's an employment-relationship issue, not a logistics one. We'll flag it clearly in your dashboard rather than let it sit silently as "pending."

Do you support employees outside the U.S.?

Not yet. Right now we run scheduled pickup and prepaid drop-off routing across the continental United States. If you have remote employees outside the U.S., talk to us directly — we're not going to pretend we cover ground we don't.

What happens if a device is lost or damaged in transit?

Optional additional shipping insurance costs $1.25 per $100 of declared value. For example, a $2,500 declared value costs $31.25. Full details are in our Terms of Service.

How do you protect data before it's wiped?

From the moment a device is sealed, it's under a documented chain of custody with a custody ID and recorded handoffs, so its location and condition are verifiable through the pipeline. If the optional wipe service is selected, we erase the device without accessing, copying, or viewing its contents.

How does the wipe actually work, and can data ever be recovered afterward?

When the data-wipe service is selected, we perform erasure consistent with NIST SP 800-88 guidelines and issue a certificate of sanitization. That certificate documents the process — it's not an absolute guarantee against every conceivable recovery method that exists. If you're handling data with heightened regulatory requirements (classified, PCI, PHI), talk to us about whether our standard process meets your specific obligations before relying on it exclusively.

Do we have to integrate with our HR system, or can we submit returns manually?

Either works. We connect to Rippling, BambooHR, Gusto, HiBob, Deel, Justworks, Workday and ADP Workforce Now. Once connected, anyone marked as leaving appears in your portal with their last day and home address, so a return is one click — no one has to remember to start it. Using something else, or not ready to connect? Your team can submit a return manually any time. Neither path is a lesser version of the other.

What devices can we send back?

Laptops, desktops, monitors, other peripherals, and corporate phones. If you've got something unusual, ask — we'd rather tell you up front if it's outside what we handle than find out mid-shipment.

Is there a minimum number of devices or a minimum contract to get started?

No minimums. Pay-per-return pricing means you pay for what you actually ship, whenever you ship it. If you're offboarding one person this quarter, that's a fine reason to use us once.

Can we cancel a subscription plan?

Yes — the specific notice period and billing terms are laid out in our Terms of Service. If anything there is unclear before you commit, ask us directly rather than assume.

What happens to a device after it's redeployed — do you resell our equipment?

No. Redeployment means we re-image, re-tag, and grade the device, then send it back into your own inventory for your next hire — it stays your asset the whole time. The only equipment that leaves your ownership is what you explicitly designate for certified e-waste disposal.

How fast does a typical return move?

It depends on the return method you choose and how quickly the employee responds. Once a device reaches us, our target is to verify intake and prepare it for the selected next step within 48 hours — that's a target we're building toward, not a current guarantee or an average pulled from a large volume of returns.

Can I see how this works before committing to anything?

Yes — try the interactive demo with sample data, no form required. If you'd rather talk through your specific offboarding volume and hardware mix with a person, reach out directly.

Still have a question that isn't here?

We'd rather answer it once, honestly, than make you guess.
